Position Summary:

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teachers in our District are high-energy, passionate about our students' growth and development, and engage in culturally responsive behaviors to ensure that all students' academic,  health, and wellness needs are met.  

 

Through ECSE, the teacher will plan, develop, and impart research-based classroom pedagogy that fosters an enriching academic and social experience for all students.

 

Candidates must hold a valid Missouri Elementary Certification B-3 and Early Childhood Special Education

in the required content area for the duration of the summer program for all positions. 

 

Dates of Summer Learning include:

• Staff PD and Workday on June 5th, 2026
• Student learning from June 8th-July 2nd, 2026
• Contract Time Mon-Thurs 8am-12pm
• NO FRIDAYS & No School June 19th (Juneteenth observed)
• Staff are paid for days worked/hourly; no pay for days not worked
• Positions are contingent upon enrollment

 

Compensation:

• The School District of University City offers a competitive salary of $32-$34/hr for the summer Teacher

Pay Dates:

• Days worked June 5th-June 18th will be paid on June 26th
• Days worked June 22nd-July 2nd will be paid on July 10th

Hiring Timeline:

• Open until filled
• Submitted for board approval April 2026
