Position Purpose:

 

The Elementary Building Aide is responsible for supporting the teaching staff by carrying out daily tasks designed to help students excel both socially and academically.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with staff and students.
• Provide “hands on” interactions with children related to play/reinforcement and prompting.
• Play and create fun environment for children.
• “Follow through” when delivering instruction to a child.
• Intervene when behavioral concerns arise.
• Complete paperwork including data collection.
• Organize and/or maintain organization and cleanliness of work area.
• Attend team meetings and trainings as necessary.
• Implement specified teaching techniques and behavioral intervention procedures.
• Follow individual schedule in classrooms and with students.
• Independent completion of time and effort log.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional and mature work behavior.

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours - education related courses preferred
• Sincere desire to work with and help educate children
• Ability to motivate others, be creative, flexible and patient
