Description

The Parent Educator reports to the Principal or other designated supervisor and is responsible for supporting the families assigned to them.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Schedules, plans and completes home visits with district families that have prenatal to Kindergarten aged children.
  2. Maintains complete up-to-date records per home visit, screening program and end-of-the-year report guidelines.
  3. Conducts screenings for children 6 months to kindergarten age during home visits or at the Center in accordance with program guidelines.
  4. Collaborates with other Parents as Teachers staff members to plan and facilitate group meetings.
  5. Attends PAT staff meetings and meetings with supervisor.
  6. Completes yearly training and certification requirements in accordance with program guidelines.
  7. Turn in time sheet weekly by Monday with completed home visit records.
  8. Participate in ongoing student recruitment.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to motivate others, be creative, flexible and patient
  • Certified in Parents as Teachers Curriculum
  • Associate's, baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood social work, human
  • services with extensive experience in counseling
  • Other skills, based upon specific assignment
